Crochet Chevron Blanket

**This is another project I finished while pregnant but felt too sick share at the time (as evident by the Christmas tree in the photo).
As mentioned here, I just knew our next baby would be a girl.  Ha!  So much for my mothers' intuition!  I've been wrong 2 out of 3 times so far - I guess that really isn't something I should admit!

I'm glad I was wrong though, because I felt compelled to finish two crocheted blankets instead of just one.  And I love them both.  This one has officially taken up residence on the back of our couch because I dig the color and modern design element it brings into the room.  It took me a long time to decide on the colors I wanted to use for this quilt, and I trekked several times into Manhattan to the Lion Brand Yarn Studio to select just the right hues (and stop at my favorite local eateries!).
This pattern also comes from the blog All Things Bright and Beautiful - I just love her work!  I mentioned before that it took me six months to finish, but I was very sick and working slow.  Andrea was able to finish hers in three weeks, which seems more accurate.

After scouring the internet I settled on this pattern because of the texture and sharp look of the chevron pattern.  This is a very simple, easy, and consequently fun pattern to follow.  Great for beginners.
