Winter Beanies

I really learned to love crocheting this past winter season, especially since I was pregnant and crocheting is easy to pick up and put down as needed.  I know we are technically into spring already, and I promise I'm almost done sharing all my latest cold weather crochet projects!  I just had so much fun!

One of my favorite things to do at the start of each fall/winter season is make my kids their winter hats.  I used this as inspiration to make my son's hat, but didn't actually follow any of the directions. I loved how it turned out, and he loves putting it on and growling at everyone we see!

I made our new baby one out of the same yarn as his sister's, but it hasn't seen too much use, and I have yet to take a photo of it.  I just made her hat up as I went along as well.

I'm already planning next seasons hats, and thinking of making both this and this for the kids.  They love "being" animals and I love encouraging their pretend play.  I hope to make myself a new hat next winter too so am on the lookout now of a great pattern and hat I can't live without!   This, this, or this maybe?!
